About 2048
2048 is a sliding number puzzle played on a 4×4 grid. Every move pushes all the tiles in one direction, and two tiles with the same number merge into one with double the value. A new 2 or 4 appears after each move, so the board slowly fills up. The goal is simple: keep merging until you create a tile with the number 2048, then keep going for a higher score.
How to play
- Use the arrow keys on a computer, or swipe on the grid on your phone.
- Two tiles with the same number merge when they touch.
- The game ends when the grid is full and no merge is possible.
Tips
- Keep your biggest tile in one corner and build around it.
- Avoid the one direction that would pull your big tile out of its corner.
- Plan merges in chains: a row of 4, 8, 16 can collapse in a few moves.
